Medb's Spiced Tea for a crowd

Spiced Tea for a crowd

Making approximately 30 servings

2 gallon-size bags of tea
⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 sticks of cinnamon
water
lemon and sugar

Special Instructions

Chuck the ingredients into the coffee urn in lieu of coffee grounds. Don't even bother putting them into the grounds basket; just dump 'em in the water. Percolate. Serve.

If you're making a large quantity of spiced iced tea, you can always cheat by adding a large can of frozen lemonade concentrate in lieu of lemon and sugar. Just be sure to add it after the tea has already cooled, otherwise it'll end up cloudy,

Yes, we know we shouldn't encourage this, but Medb's magical tea keeps forever: we never bothered to remove the tea bags until it was time to clean the urn and start a new batch, and none of us felt the tea tasted overly bitter or astringent. Or was that because the tea went so quickly that it never got a chance to get too tannic?
